Sustainability makes sense environmentally, socially and in our business. By ‘doing the right thing’ we can help protect and nurture the valuable resources on which we all depend, making our business more efficient and effective, whilst also recognising the opportunity to meet the growing demand for sustainable products and services.
Our presence in the domain of mining helps us to effectively understand that resource optimization is one of the most significant aspects of any business; therefore harnessing renewable energy is one of the best possible ways to ensure responsible usage of resources. The Group has put immense focus on capacity addition in renewable energy through a diversified portfolio of power projects in various locations across India.
In 2006, the Atha Group ventured into renewable energy by setting up its first wind power projects. Through the use of high quality, advanced technology, transparency and reliability of EPC contracts, the Group ensures that its projects are profitable, implemented on time and cost competitive.
The group has an experienced and highly competent team of professionals to manage and operate the renewable power division of the group. Today the Group has 54.20 MW of current operational capacity with a future projected capacity of 150 MW in the next 3-5 years.

Higher demand for solar energy, triggered by concerns about global warming and energy security will catapult the solar industry to a new level in the next 10 years. Approximately 18% of the new electric generation capacity worldwide will be from PV, which will then begin taking its rightful place in the sun: as a major contributor of secure, carbon-free, emission-free, water-saving energy. NVR Infrastructure and Services Private Limited was set up in 2011 to become our main solar power holding company with the clear aim of establishing the Atha Group as significant players in the Indian solar energy market.
In 2012, construction began on the first 10 MW Solar Power Plant in the town of Kolayat in Rajasthan. The plant was set up under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission and it was commissioned in 2013. Given the potential for solar power generation in India and the growing concerns for reduction of greenhouse gases and climate change, the Group plans to scale up its operational capacity to 180 MW in the next 3-5 years.

The Group’s has registered its renewable portfolio (Wind – 54.2MW and Solar – 10MW) with the United Nation’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC)’s Clean Development Mechanism for sustainable manufacture and eco-friendly operational practices. Additionally, 9MW Wind portfolio has been registered under REC and the same is being traded on PXIL and IEX exchanges.
